Implose Labs

About the lab

A small lab for software that stays useful.

Implose Labs builds open-source desktop tools from workflows we use ourselves. The first three projects cover transcription, managed terminal work, and Markdown workspaces.

Build the tool. Use it hard. Open the door carefully.

The lab is operated by Liberty Design Studio. Product decisions stay close to the people writing and using the software. Each public product repository includes build notes and license information.

Friction first

We begin with a repeated annoyance inside a workflow we know well enough to test every day.

Local control

Work stays on the device when the product can deliver its main value without a remote service.

Readable source

A public repository should explain how to build the software, where its dependencies came from, and how a contribution can help.

Narrow releases

A focused tool can become dependable. Scope grows only after the first job works under daily pressure.
